La Maison des  Rossignols

In the area of La Maison des Rossignols you can find numerous beautiful cities.

Carcassonne is the largest walled city of Europe and boasts a castle, a wonderful Gothic cathedral and beautiful small alleys and streets.

A little further afield but none the less worth the trip are: Toulouse (130km), Montpellier (70km) and Perpignan (70km). You can reach the Spanish frontier in one hour, Barcelona in two and a half.

Small villages like Minerve or Lagrasse are idyllic and also worth a visit. Spend time at the local weekly markets with fresh produce, cycle along the wonderful Canal du Midi or enjoy a leisurely French lunch with a nice glass of wine.

For those who enjoy the sunshine and beaches; the Mediterranean Sea can be found  22 km distance. Wind and kite surfing can be enjoyed at one of the many sea-lakes. You can spot flamingos and pelicans at these lakes as well.

La Maison des Rossignols is surrounded by vineyards of the famous Corbières and Minervois wine-areas. The hills in our surroundings offer beautiful views of these vineyards. These hills are part of the Montagne Noir on the north side and the majestic Pyrenees on the south side. Wonderful mountain lakes, peace and quiet, walking and cycling; it’s all possible at a short distance from La Maison des Rossignols.
